Martha Raines

A native of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Martha is largely a self taught artist who paints in watercolors and oil. Her love of nature and the beauty of her surroundings inspire the majority of her works. She works exclusively from her own photographs or on location whenever possible.

Martha has studied in workshops with noted artists, Pat Weaver and Tom Jones from Florida, as well as some local artists. She is an active member of the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League and has won awards in League exhibits.
