Jack Williams

Jack is a new comer to Black Mountain. He was born in California, raised and Maryland and spent most of his life in Virginia. He attended the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore earning a degree in Graphic Design.

After a 30 year career in advertising, marketing and illustration He began painting in watercolors. His concentration is on landscapes using photographs as a starting point. His work is all free hand from scratch. He has a preference for strong colors and uses a basic technique that is called "glazing". This technique is a process of building up layers of color until the desired effect is achieved. Jack also does house portraits. A watercolor of a place with special memories for a family keepsake.
